Offer: Global Coordinator in Kenya for Translators without Borders - Application due Nov 18, 2013!
Position Details: Translators without Borders (TWB) has received funding to test a translation system to improve communications between aid workers and local populations during humanitarian emergencies. TWB will test the concept in Kenya with Swahili and Somali, and will work collaboratively with a number of partners including UN-OCHA, the Communicating with Disaster Affected Communities Network (CDAC-N), Acrolinx, Content Rules and Microsoft.
Responsible for overseeing the the Words of Relief pilot and ensuring its applicability on a global scale. The Global Coordinator (GC) will help oversee the pilot team including a project manager, an intern and potentially an engineer. The GC also will work closely with other stakeholders, including the volunteer technology committee, an MEL advisor provided by CDAC-N, consultants and advisors to the project. This is a part-time position. Remote working possible.
