Offer: Invitation to the International Day of the Girl Program, Lagos, Nigeria

It is my pleasure to extend this invitation to you to attend the 2nd Annual International Day of the Girl Child. HACEY’s Health Initiative is a registered non-governmental organization with the mission to educate and support women, children and young people to lead healthy and sustainable lives.

HACEY celebrated the 1st International Day of the Girl Child on 11th October 2012 to promote the Health, Empowerment, and Rights of the Girl child in Africa, hosting 1200 change-makers. The program also launched the ‘Hands up for HER Campaign’, which is spread across 24 countries in Africa, promoting the development of the girl child in Africa.

This year, we will be hosting 2000 change-makers to share ideas, experience and solutions:

Theme: “Education as a Catalyst in Promoting the Health, Empowerment, Rights of the Girl Child”
Date: Thursday, 10th October 2013
Time: 9:00am - 12noon
Venue: Main Auditorium, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos state, Nigeria

We humbly extend this invitation to you and request the pleasure of having you participate in this program. We would be glad to have you join us in celebrating the girl child and sharing your experience and opinions at the program.

Speakers for the program include:
Mr Jeffery Hawkins - Current United States Consul General in Nigeria;
H.E. Barr Toyin Saraki - Former First lady Kwara state, and Executive Director Wellbeing Foundation;
Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin - US International Women of Courage Awardee, president Women Arise for Change Initiative;
Mrs Yemisi Ransome-Kuti - Founder NNNGO and Civil Society Advisor to the World Bank; and
Mrs Detoun Ogwo - Executive Director Afterschool Graduate Development Centre.
