Offer: Women Journalists from Cambodia. Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines are encouraged to attend training

Deutsche Welles Akademie and its regional partner Peace and Conflict Journalism Network will spearhead a two-week
workshop on “Conflict-sensitive Reporting”.
With support by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The workshop will take place in Cebu, Philippines from May 20 – 31, 2013.

Participants from four Asian countries will have the opportunity to
•broaden their knowledge in the field of conflict-sensitive reporting;
•advance their journalistic skills with regards to research tools, story
development, interview techniques;
•exchange views and establish long-lasting relations with colleagues
from other Asian countries.

Economy class air travel and accommodation will be organised and covered
by DW Akademie

Requirements:
Applicants should fulfill these requirements:

•Be citizens of the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos or Myanmar
•Be between 25 and 40 years old
•Work as journalists for print-media or online-publications
•Have at least two years of professional experience
•Frequently report on conflict issues
•Have excellent knowledge of English (oral and written skills, the
workshop will be held in English).

Application:
All applications must be submitted through the media organisation where
the candidate is employed. Candidates should therefore please contact
their editor in chief or head of department and kindly ask them to
endorse and submit their applications to DW Akademie via
dw.training@pecojon.org.

Applications can only be considered if they include the following:
•the application form (completed, signed and scanned as pdf-file),
•the employer's declaration (completed, signed and scanned as pdf-file),
•the applicant's motivation statement (pdf-file or word doc),
•three recent work samples related to conflict issues (pdf-file).

Forms can be obtained from your editor in chief or head of department.
Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Deadline: Applications must be submitted to DW Akademie by April 20, 2013.
