GIRLS ACTION FOUNDATION is currently seeking an energetic and talented person to join their team.
Under the supervision of the Communications Manager & Web Producer, this individual will be responsible for the implementation of communications tasks and specific projects.
Founded in 1995, Girls Action Foundation is a national charitable organization that leads and seeds girls’ programs across Canada. We build girls’ and young women’s skills and confidence and inspire action to change the world. Through our innovative programs, research and support to a network of over 300 partnering organizations and projects, Girls Action reaches over 60,000 girls and young women, with a large majority belonging to marginalized communities.
Desired Skills and Qualities:
Relevant experience and/ or training (Communications, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Women’s Studies or other relevant field)
Strong written and verbal skills in both French and English
Excellent interpersonal skills
Task oriented with a view on the big picture
Works well under pressure, punctual; well-organized and detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Highly motivated, creative and energetic; with a desire to contribute to the development of an innovative organization
Experience working with Microsoft Office suite
Tech and Internet savvy
Familiar with both PC and Mac-based software
Experience working with website content management systems (Drupal or other), and at least two of the following: social media, InDesign, Adobe, Photoshop;
Knowledge of database management systems like Salesforce is an asset
Hours per week: 35
Duration: 12 week summer internship with strong possibility of becoming a permanent part-time job in the fall.
Eligibility: Through the Youth Employment Strategy, this position is open to candidates who have been full-time students within the previous school year and who have a permanent (family) address more than 125km from Montreal.
