"The NORGLOBAL program offers Norwegian research institutions with travel and conference grants to engage female researchers in the global South.
Additionally, Norwegian institutions can partner with South-based organizations for research projects and events addressing women's rights and gender equality, including in themes related to natural resources.
The overall objectives of NORGLOBAL:
NORGLOBAL is established to strengthen Norwegian research on and for development in low- and middle-income countries, and also strengthen research capacity in these countries.
The programme has a special responsibility to generate new knowledge within the field of development in Norway. A greater level of efficiency, flexibility, visibility and coherence will be achieved by consolidating much of the work being done in the field of development under a single programme.
The programme combines a number of existing programmes and activities and will be open to new initiatives. The latest activities included are 'Tax Havens, Capital Flows and Developing Countries' and 'Research on Humanitarian Policy'. The NORGLOBAL programme will place importance on accomplishing tasks in cooperation with other Research Council programmes and activities.
The programme encompasses a number of thematic priority areas, which will be administered in accordance with their own guiding documents (sub-programme research agendas).

POVPEACE: Poverty and Peace Research
W-Balkan: Wester Balkan Countries Development Studies
Applicants from abroad must as a rule have a formal affiliation with a Norwegian institution to be eligible to seek Norwegian funding.
However, some financing opportunities are specifically designed for foreign researchers and partners.
Normally, applications for funding under the Research Council's research programmes and other funding opportunities are only accepted from Norwegian institutions and companies.
