Offer: CONSULTANT: SOCIAL, ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH IN THE CONTEXT OF THE REGIONAL UNDP PROGRAMME FOR EASTERN EUROPE AND CENTRAL ASIA (EECA)

Location: home-based with envisaged travel/missions within the EECA region.

Application Deadline: 26-Apr-13.

REQUIREMENTS:

1) Academic Qualifications/Education:
Minimum masters’ degree in a health and/or human development related field, PhD in a health and/or human development related field is an asset.

2) Experience:
At least 10 years of relevant regional experience in the field of health and development with a particular focus on SEEDs of health and health inequities. Knowledge of health impact assessments in a multisectoral context a plus;
Excellent research, analytical and drafting skills;
Successful track-record in applied research, of translating results into concepts for policy advice and development programming;
Good knowledge about UN agencies, their vision and mandates in the context of health and development;
Publications: Multiple publications related to health and development with a particular focus on SEEDs of health and health inequities, in English.
Language skills:
Fluency and ability to communicate and perform complex research in English. Knowledge of other regional languages is a plus.
