Need: In Search of Grant/Sponsorship for our Project (Centre for Disadvantaged Girls)
We highly welcome sponsorship from organizations and/individuals to help us reach out to the women and girls in our community with this important message, that there is hope after hopelessness.
Areas that require your sponsorship include:
- Education as a basic need; many bright girls in our Centre are unable to afford to pay their way through school, a situation that makes most of them compromise their lives for sex in order to pay their school fees.
Your contribution in this category will go a long way to help curb the spread of HIV/AIDS and STDs amongst the not only our young generation of women, but the entire population as a whole.
- Social Enterprise; lack of any form of employment in Kenya at the moment requires that jobs be created for the women at our Centre who dropped out of school and already spent a long time outside the classroom and have children to raise.
Your sponsorship here shall greatly help in implementation of viable income generating projects to provide employment opportunities to the girls and women for their sustenance.
- Conference Budget; the pace at which things are changing in the world today calls for fora upon fora to educate and inform the women and girls on current events that affect them in our country. This calls for a lot of travel, food and accommodation expenses, advertising, hire of equipment, auditorium fees, conference material and promotional items.
Your sponsorship in this category will ensure that at least 99% of women are reached with the information they badly need to empower themselves to face the world head on.
- Support Category; as human beings, we all have different capabilities. Not all of us can make contributions in the above categories. Here we welcome and appreciate any other support in kind or cash that you can manage without breaking your back, to realize the vision and mission of the Centre for Disadvantaged Girls.
This includes new or used equipment for our Mass Communication Department, although our carpentry section, computer studies, tailoring, motor vehicle mechanics, catering and hospitality and masonry departments would also benefit hugely with a donation of new or secondhand equipment, machinery and tools.
Used vehicles in which to move from venue to venue for conferences, retreats, clinics, workshops and meetings will come in handy.
Intact used clothing and toys will also be appreciated, to cover the nakedness of very poor girls and their children in Kenya, and help very young innocent HIV /AIDS orphans to keep their minds off their situations.
