adult_education_photo.jpgRafiki Program is a unique program that gives illiterate rural women a chance to learn how to read and write. Rafiki is a swahili word that mean a friend. In this case Project Africa matches women in rural africa with other women all over the world in a letter exchange program
This program gives rural women a chance to read when they receive letters from their friends abroad and also it provides an opportunity for women to write when they reply letters to their friends.
We call upon women all over the world to join our Rafiki Program and be a friend to a woman in Project africa network. Help women telll their stories about their families their enviroments their lives etc
By this we fight illiteracy by engaging women in adult education where they learn how to raed and write

Dear mamaAfrica,
Greetings and salutations. I pray this finds you well. The Rafiki program sounds very interesting to me, and I plan to make application to become a part of the it. I would love to correspond with any of these wonderful ladies. I myself, have always had an interest in Kenya and it's brave and beautiful people.

Rafiki Program
Dearest mamaAfrica,
I wrote and asked to participate, and received a letter telling me that they would be choosing a Rafiki for me. I await with happy anticipation. I really look forward to this.
I just wanted to let you know that I followed through and will also let you know when I find out who my rafiki is.
