Real Delivery room in Papua New Guinea

My name is Kelly and I have been involved or studying (*self) Midwifery, Women's Health and Natural Birth since I was 9 years old. I have been running 2 campaigns online (one is almost up so I will start another in it's place) to raise $$$ so I can become a midwife and build Birth Centers in rural regions of the world where women have NO access to health or Maternity care! I want to do this because I KNOW I CAN! I want to fill my heart and hands with mamas and babies and save lives! I will be constantly training local women midwifery and basic health care skills so that we together may fill the much needed gaps in rural health care access to provide care for these women so that they don't just become statistics in the almost silent battle against Maternal Mortality!
I have been running this 1st campaign since 3 days after I got accepted to Midwife International's program in Uganda in mid September, I sadly lost my place there as I couldn't (not for lack of trying) raise the needed placement fee on time... I have since been accepted to study at the Shiphrah Birth House in the Philippines and as well have chosen to go with an MEAC School (distance) The National College of Midwifery to get my Associate of Science in Midwifery and also make it a lot easier to get my midwifery certification through NARM! I feel 14-15 months heavily immersed in studying and gaining my clinical experience in the Philippines will be sufficient time to complete my studies and pass the NARM!
I have been through every emotion during this campaign. I was absolutely elated in the beginning to have been accepted and see that I can live the rest of my life in service to others and save lives while incorporating my children into this dance as well (ages 9,14,18&20) They are all very excited!!! What better life is there than to lift up those whom our battered world has left on the ground~!~
It has not been what I expected though. I have received no support from my Family as they feel the children will not be 'safe' on our adventures on this path... and have come to find out as well that most of my friends )not all~) are too busy to be bothered with the problems (life and death matters) of people they will never meet and are too absorbed in their own realities just trying to make ends meet to support me... I have been to the bottom of this and have realized that I need to campaign in person so now my 2 younger boys and I are leaving Mexico to visit family in the States and campaign OUT LOUD! I KNOW I can do this and I know there is $$$ out there to support me to support these women! I am not asking for this for me, I speak for them, I cry for them, all I want to do is help make a difference and do my part, yet my pleas keep falling on seemingly deaf ears. I ask that if you want to help, then share my campaigns, and if nothing else educate yourself about Maternal Health issues: the lack of services in under served regions and the hyper medicalization of Birth in the developed countries (not all of them) and then educate others. Birthing and how we as women are treated in the process, experience the process and how our babies experience it and the bonding immediately after (or lack of) is in my opinion the drastic difference in a healthy Humanity or not... The ramifications of our blatant imbalance on this subject is obvious in our societies!
Birthing is far more important than most believe and I feel the current state of high maternal mortality rates it is a direct reflection of how women are viewed in general and although I may not be able to change that I can change the lives of the women I will care for and in turn their families and communities and in that I feel a positive movement happening and choose that life for me. I believe this is possible and ask that you believe in me too~
Here are my campaign links~

Please feel free to message me~ I am open to talk about what we can do together!!!
Love & ALOHA~!~
