Need: What does women’s empowerment mean?

I’m urgently looking for people from all around the world that can help me answer that question! For my master’s dissertation I’m trying to do a global survey on that question because I feel that empowerment is often defined by those that are already in power. If you’re interested, please get in touch, so I can send you the details of my study. After receiving the information, you can still decide whether you want to participate or not. Participation would only take a few minutes and is absolutely confidential. Please help me gather as many voices as possible to find a more down-to-earth understanding of women’s empowerment – I think it’s needed!

Can I help?

Hi,

Can I help? I am an American who has an NGO "I AM ONE IN A MILLION" in Livingstone Zambia, the purpose of which is to help street orphans and vulnerable children. This of course includes contact with women. I have developed trusting relationships with many.

What can I do or ask them that would help your study?

Hi Wendy,

that would be awesome! I´m actually doing my research on Facebook, so it would be awesome, if you could just ´friend´ me on Facebook, or send me a message, so I could send you the details of my study!

Thank you so much, this would be incredibly helpful!

Best wishes,
Lena!

How Can I help?

I currently run a FB page on empowerment for women; you wouldn't believe some of the conversations we've gotten into on there! I have a very interesting mix of religious/educated/athiest members who often find a women's role VERY DIFFERENT to say the least. You are MORE than welcome to join/browse our wall. If you'd like; forward your information to me through the website/best way to contact me! I will help in any way I can:)

CAN'T GET ON FACEBOOK

Hi,

I am having trouble getting on FB so if you can get it to me any other way, I am happy to fill out the survey, which is much needed by the way.

Ubuntu,

Wendy

Dear Wendy and Rebecca,
That's awesome that you'd like to help!!! Please get in touch with me by email (lenaahrens@yahoo.de), as I would have to send the details of my research as an attachment, which I can't on this page...
Many greetings and I hope to hear from you soon,
Lena!!!
