Mama Cash is looking for a Programme Officer for Voice, for 36 hours a week.
Mama Cash aims to strengthen its grantmaking in the area of women’s and girls’ agency and participation by hiring an ambitious and experienced feminist activist to manage a grantmaking portfolio titled Voice. The portfolio supports women’s, girls’ and trans organisations and initiatives to make their voices heard and to gain more influence and take leadership in shaping the social, cultural and political processes that affect their lives.
We are seeking to hire a Programme Officer who will build our networks, shape this portfolio of grantees, and take leadership in developing our priorities related to the Voice portfolio. The Programme Officer will work both independently and as an integral member of the Programmes Team. The position requires working closely with the rest of the Programmes Team on ensuring that our grantmaking policies and procedures align with our 2009-2013 strategic plan.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have expertise in a broad range of issues related to the agency and participation of women, girls and trans people (including but not limited to building feminist leadership, particularly in militarized and fundamentalist contexts; promoting accountability of formal and informal institutions to women, girls and trans people; and supporting voices on the margins of movements) and knowledge of and fieldwork in the global south and east.
Demonstrated bilingual fluency in oral and written English and another language (ex: French, Spanish, Arabic) is required.
