Need: Help Me To Attend Conference and Bring Together Two Shores

Two weeks ago I received a very special message: My paper on "Feminism, Islam and Spiritual Activism for a New Society" was acepted to be presented as a lecture at the National University of Cordoba in Argentina, one of the most prestigious in the country. The reason is that between 22, 23 and 24 May a Latinamerican Congress on Gender studies, will be held there.

In recent months I have managed to improve my visibility as a Muslim feminist who advocates for the rights of women in non-Islamic society. This is important for me because I may be a bridge between Muslim women and women who are not and break stereotypes of one side or the other. And also, it allows me to break stereotypes about muslims in general: We don't want to live isolated from the society we're in, we want to join to others in a work towards freedom, social justice and equity.

If I manage to attend the conference, will be the first Muslim woman to speak in an academic environment for gender equality specialized audience. It is a historic opportunity for me, for women who support me, muslims and women in my district, and other women from different countries attending the meet, approach and break the barriers of prejudice.

But not all. Being in touch with other women activists from other cities and countries will allow me to further empower myself as activism around women's rights and create networks from which to expand the scope on, because the human rights approach is needed in all place

This conference is a great opportunity for the women that I interact every day. My goal in attending this conference is to demonstrate that diversity is an asset and not an obstacle, that we are equal in our special way of being and respect for the right to choose our identities is the basis of a peaceful social coexistence. I also want to inspire other Muslim women to engage in activism, I want to gain knowledge and relationships that can help me to develop my community projects in my district, for example, a radio community program and school leadership.

I need $400 american dollars. Your support is very needed. That's is the ammount I lack of to open the door that keeps plenty of opportunities behind. Help me to bring together two shores and boost activism on women rights to lead it to a new level of power. The changes your help can allow in behalf of women development and empowerment are priceles

You can support me with $200 dollars to pay my bus tickets round trip to Córdoba City
You can support me with $50 dollars and cover one day of the 3 of the congress, of daily budget that will cover hotel and meals.
You can support me with $50 dollars for expenses regarding my transportation and material for attending to the conference.
