Need: Nepal - Women Empowerment Project Advice

Hello Community!
I was wondering if you would be able to help me with a bit of advice. My friend and I are about to graduate from college and we have decided that this summer, hopefully for the month of August, we would like to put together a project for female empowerment. I am an aspiring filmmaker while she is a very talented writer - and with our combined efforts, we would like to plan a trip that would focus on an issue concerning women and use our specific talents to create a travel blog complete with articles and videos.
As of right now, we have our sights set on Nepal. We are hoping to be able to find shelters/hospitals/clinics/women's groups etc where we might be to volunteer for a few days at a time, get a glimpse into what is going on, hopefully be able to interview people. As you can tell this is all very much in the planning stages, but we are enthusiastic and looking for help wherever it may come from. If you have any advice as to how we might be able to go about finding such opportunities - anything and everything would be helpful.
