Offer: Offer to Teach

I discovered my passion for teaching mathematics while I was homeschooling my children. Once they graduated from high school, I set out to acquire a formal education at the university so that I could continue teaching. The more I learned, the more I hungered to learn. Many doors were opened to me in the nine years I was at the university. I was able to conduct research with several wonderful teachers. That was where I stumbled upon my passions for technology and writing.

After earning two degrees in mathematics and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction, I am completely lost in my search for how to use my skills. I would desperately love to teach mathematics, or whatever I can, to women who share my hunger for learning.

Hello Sonya,
My name is Beatrice Achieng,
I read about your passion of teaching mathematics and got interested in working with you.
I am a Ugandan, the founder of Rural Girl Child Mentorship Uganda (RGCM Uganda), a project under a grassroots NGO– Pearl Community Empowerment Foundation (PCE-Foundation), is a one on one girl-to-mentor project aimed at empowering Ugandan girls through financial assistance for continued education, shared knowledge and wisdom, and creative thinking.

Each rural Ugandan girl [aged between 13 -21] is connected to a mentor who helps nurture their vision for a brighter future.-, Each year we intent to recruit 40 girls for this mentorship programme, this year we have 40 girl and 38 Mentors from Australia, the UK and the US.

I am inquiring if you could come to Uganda and teach our girls and schools they are attached to Mathematics. Mathematics is never the best subject here in Africa.
