Offer: The Global Fund for Women is offering small, flexible, and timely grants

The Global Fund for Women supports women's groups that advance the human rights of women and girls. We strengthen women's right groups based outside the United States by providing small, flexible, and timely grants ranging from $500 to $30,000 for operating and program expenses. We value local expertise and believe that women themselves know best how to determine their needs and propose solutions for lasting change.

Who the Global Fund supports

Groups of women working together.
Organizations that demonstrate a clear commitment to women’s equality and women’s human rights.
Organizations that are governed and directed by women.
Organizations based outside of the United States.

Who the Global Fund does NOT support

Organizations that do not have a women’s human rights focus.
Organizations headed or managed by men.
Organizations whose sole activities are income-generation and/or charity.
Organizations based or working primarily in the United States.
Organizations in the Global North proposing partnerships in the Global South.

Dear Katina,
I suggest you contact the Global Fund with your idea and your need. You can also post a need in the PulseWire Resource Exchange. Describe who you are (and your organization, if applicable), what you would like to do, and what you need to accomplish it.

Also, some advice to protect your privacy and security online, I recommend to all our community members to avoid posting their email address publicly. If you want to send it to a trusted PulseWire member, use the private messaging feature so only they have access to your personal contact information.

Let me know if you have any questions, and don't forget to post your International Women's Day event in Global Events!

Dear Breese,

Thank you for the timely information on support available for women who need it. I would like to highlight the plight of the weavers called "zardosi' workers , women who hail from the state of Uttar Pradesh, and who are master in hand embroidery. Their situation is pathetic where they earn very little of the product which is sold off in the market with a 400% hike.

I would like to know if these women if congregated into a Self Help Group could expect assistance monetarily fromt his scheme of yours to start their own enterprise and which would do away with the middlemen who earn the chunk.

Kindly let me know.

Love n regards,
Urmila Chanam
