International Peace Initiatives ( is a registered 501 (c) 3 charitable organization based in USA and also a registered International NGO in Kenya. IPI-K was founded in 2003. The organization works with women and children affected and infected by HIV/AIDS to support initiatives that mitigate effects of poverty, disease and violence. Our mission is thus to support women and children attain prosperity, health and peace through education, empowerment and enterprise.

IPI-K recognizes that women's voices are muted in most communities. Moreover, women's efforts to fight against poverty, disease and violence are not covered in mainstream media. So, we ask, "who will speak for the women?" At IPI-K, we encourage women to speak for themselves. This is why we have organized a Congress, a gathering of women who are grassroots women, to give them a chance to speak for themselves at an international forum.

The first IPI-K Women's Congress took place in August 2005, in Nairobi Kenya. The second one will take place in Meru, Kenya in August 2009.

This is to invite YOU to plan on attending this important meeting for grassroots women who have chosen to take the BOLD step to speak for themselves.

KARIBU KENYA, welcome to Kenya. Visit for more information on the 2009 Congress. If you are interested in attending this unique gathering of women, please contact me:

Great idea!

I am happy to learn of this great congress. Iam also pleased to learn we have such a strong organisation which brings our women together. How wonderful it is to give women a chance to speak for themselves rather than waiting for someone to do it. God willing i will attend the congress and i am sure i will learn so much to share with my friends.
Thanks and keep up the good work

Thank you for sharing this! I am willing to attend this function which will be right here in Kenya.I am looking forward to hearing more from you.

Best wishes,
Leila and Leah.
