Offer: Advocacy And Policy Coordinator, Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights, Philippines

The Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR). Manila, the Philippines.
Closing date: December 21, 2011.

Our Mission:

We are a southern-based global network that builds and strengthens movements for sexual and reproductive health, rights (SRHR) and justice. Our work is grounded in the realities of those who most lack economic, social and political power. Through critical analysis and strategic actions, we connect members and allies, build knowledge, organise campaigns and share resources. WGNRR works to realise the full sexual and reproductive health and rights of all people, with a particular focus on the most marginalised. We believe that achieving this goal requires transformative social change.

WGNRR works within the rights, justice and feminist frameworks. We aim to be member focused, inclusive and accountable in all that we do. We are committed to equality for all genders and value diversity. We are self reflective and independent from political, governmental or religious institutions.
The Vacancy:

Therefore they must have a solid background in sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), preferably in policy analysis with practical experience of campaigns. They should also have experience of advocacy preferably with global institutions such as the EU and UN. The successful candidate will be confident in using a rights and justice framework and be familiar with the commitments made within ICPD PoA, Beijing Platform for Action and MDGs.

The candidate will also be familiar with Human rights frameworks and linkages between SRHR and HR. An understanding of HR defenders mechanisms would be highly desirable.

They should a have a demonstrated ability to develop position statements and coherent arguments for change.

The post holder will have project management experience within an international NGO and experience of working in more than one country.

WGNRR is a strong supporter and advocate of peoples’ diverse sexualities and gender identities. WGNRR advocates for unrestricted access to safe abortion. The candidate must fully support WGNRR’s position on these issues.
