Offer: Reuters Foundation: Rural Poverty Reporting course in Colombia

Start date: 12 December 2011 | End date: 14 December 2011
Location: Bucaramanga, Colombia
Language: Spanish
Application deadline: 18 November 2011

In line with IFAD’s commitment to amplify the debate on rising food prices and how to achieve global food security, this fully-funded training workshop will focus on journalists in countries where IFAD operates, to enhance the skills required to cover the issues facing the rural people and their communities and bring these to the attention of policy and decision makers, both nationally and regionally. Journalists will attend a three day session in Bucaramanga, that will include a site visit to an IFAD sponsored agricultural project. Workshops will look at issues such as basic economics of food production, market access, competition for resources, population movements and access to water. This is the fifth workshop in a series of five running in 2011.
