As a WASI (Women of the Americas Sustainability Initiative) Sister, you will actively support and participate in the building of WASI communities. You will have the option of a two-week to six-month immersion, running between April 2012-March 2013. You can choose organizations and projects from amongst 15 countries that you would most like to work with.
Countries include: Argentina, Belize, Brasil, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela. The WASI Delegates who represent these communities will be your WASI Sisters. In exchange for a funding contribution, 100% of which will support their participation in WASI (details below), you will:
Learn the basics of natural building
Be hosted by your WASI Sister and her community
Help to create a building that will serve the long-term needs of her community
Develop outreach and story-telling skills in order to share the story with many others
Participate in an incredible movement of women who are building practical, on-the-ground solutions that will meet basic needs for generations to come
