Offer: Project Rise - Photo Competition

How it works:
If you’re a budding photographer or filmmaker between the ages of 16 and 24, send us one photograph representing the biggest issue that adolescent girls face in your community, with a maximum 50-word description of the issue, and/or one 1-minute video telling us about the issue. All entries will be evaluated by our expert judge, and the top ones will be put on our Facebook page for our extensive Facebook network to vote on. The photographs and videos that receive the most “likes” will be the winners.

Winners:
The winners will get the opportunity for their work to be displayed at the global level. They will also get a chance to win a cash prize of up to $100!

Timeline:

August 15th – Contest begins
September 2nd – Last day for submission of entries
September 6th – Top entries put on Facebook page. Voting begins.
September 21st – Last day for voting.
September 22nd – Winners are announced.

Theme:
The theme of Project Rise is “What is the biggest issue that adolescent girls face in your community?” In association with Global Fund for Children’s Grassroots Girls Initiative Fellowship, Project Rise is creating a platform for talented young people to speak up and help sensitize people around the world to the kinds of issues adolescent girls face in different regions of the world. We want to hear your voice through your art.

Submission process:
Each individual is allowed to send in one entry. The entry can be either one photograph, one video, or one photograph and one video. Multiple entries in the same category are not allowed. All you need to do is send your entries to globalfundforchildren@gmail.com by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Friday, September 2, 2011. We will send you a confirmatory email once we receive your entry.
