Need: One Young World Candidate

I was selected to represent my country as a delegate at the One Young World Summit in Zurich. I am still looking for a sponsor. You sponsor directly on the One Young World website not to me.

The One Young World Summit is a global platform for the brightest and best young people- the next generation of world leaders. They will make their voices heard on a global stage. Nobel Peace Laureates Kofi Annan, Muhammad Yunus, and Desmond Tutu - as well as Bob Geldof - will join other global leaders from fields ranging from health and faith, to entrepreneurship and media as Counsellors, who will be running the sessions. Resolutions will be created in six key areas: the environment, politics, business, religion, healthcare and the media and will act as a youth response to conferences such as the UN climate negotiations at COP15 and COP16. Having proven themselves as young leaders, delegates will travel to Zürich in September 2011, to discuss 6 key future issues with 1599 other young leaders from all 194 countries of the world, bringing the world’s foremost young minds and achievers together.

The Inaugural Summit took place in London’s ExCeL Centre (site of the G8 summit), and was an unprecedented success, featuring nearly 1,000 young representatives from 112 countries (born in or after 1984, selected for their leadership potential and engagement in social works), and coverage from global media giants like the BBC, BBC World, CNN, Al-Jazeera, AFP, Reuters, MSNBC, CCTV, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, and The Financial Times – amongst many others. This included a live broadcast on the BBC World Service to over 60 million listeners, and a half-hour post-summit special report. Looking forward to the second summit in Zürich, with the unprecedented success of London 2010 behind us, One Young World 2011 should be even greater in terms of both coverage and influence.

I still have 19 days to find a sponsor and keeping my fingers crossed. If there is anyone who can assist out there I would be grateful. I was chosen last year as well but could not attend as I was in the Philippines, I was lucky to be selected again this year. Next year I will be too old :) there is an age limit to these summits.

Hope you can help
