Solutions for Life Initiative-Ghana (SFLIG) is a youth focus non governmental organization which is geared toward informal transmission of knowledge, social capital and psychosocial support for youth especially young girls, the less privilege and the vulnerable in society. We help to raise their self esteem whist whilst seeking social justice and developing their role is building a sustainable and productive future. We work with three main initiative and the Mentoring initiative is one of them.
As part of measures to mentor young girls to give them a voice we have introduce the reading club for young girls in various communities where we work. Most rural girls is Ghana find it difficult to read and write English. Girls sometimes complete junior high school and they are not even able to write their names and express themselves i every day basic English. Most of these girls always dropout of school before they write their junior high school and push some of them into early marriage and high dependency on men.
This issue of girls not able to express themselves we are finding it difficult to achieve our vision of empowering young girls to take up leadership position and even standing p for their right since they can't express themselves well.
Is with our quest to give these girls a voice we have started a reading club in on e community to get volunteers assist in forming other reading clubs in other communities to teach these girls how to read using creative art materials through.
Getting volunteers to contribute to this project will help raise the self esteem of such girls.
Volunteers must be creative, know and able to speak English, ability to observe kids, very loving, must be able to use the creative Art materials, must be loving and easy to be be with and willing to come to Ghana during the time they will volunteer

A COMMENDABLE INITIATIVE
This is commendable indeed. And it is a project i would love to be associated with. Indeed, the future is not really in the hands of government but individuals who choose to be an agent of change in their own little corner.
