Need: Need for text books in Congo

We will be opening a school in Lubanda a, rural village in The Democratic Republic of Congo and are in urgent need of text books for grades 7, 8 students. The school will start running beginning of 2012 and we are looking for donations of used text books, new books as well as general library books for a Girl's school. We have secured funds for construction and we are now gathering the other resources. If we could get uniforms, general stationery and furniture we would be very grateful. Many girls in Lubanda do not make it to Secondary School mainly because of poverty.
This school will benefit many young women and give them a second chance and a fresh start in getting educated. Many of them drop out of school to get married as young as 13 and they do not make it out of the cycle of poverty. This makes them vulnerable to HIV/AIDS and Failure to transition from primary school to secondary school will undermine their full participation in society and in the economy.
Promoting and achieving gender-equitable education is what will eventually lead to the greatest socio-economic returns enabling young women to contribute outside of their families to their communities, and ultimately to the development of their countries. For young women in Africa and the DRC in particular, the push to make secondary education an accessible reality could provide that impetus for changes that seem so incomprehensible today .This change will be for many young girls who sit in classrooms feeling marginalized, disconnected or afraid of being mocked or harassed, or even to those who can only wonder and dream about the learning that is going on in a secondary school classroom.
NB: The DRC is a French speaking Country so all donation of text books and library books should be of French books

My french is very bad i am still at bonjour but i read your email and i understood it i am so excited hey. Reading french is easier for me than speaking but you can write me in French i will understand. Right now i just need library books and books that children who are in 7th and 8th grade can use. in the whole village there is not one school with a library and many children have never seed a book, only the teacher has the book he uses to teach. Those books will benefit the girls and the res of the village children who will also be able to utilize the facilities. We need books for children in primary school. this will help them improve their French and become more confident in school.
