Need: Funding for the Elderly
Dear PulseWire Community,
I worked as a volunteer within my community of Chitungwiza mostly with the elderly. As a woman who spends most of the time with the elderly, i am inspired and i have also realised that these old people has done much in the development of the country. They are infact being regarded as liabilities, yet they contributed much in the development of the nation. As Save the Elderly Trust (SET), we are advocating for their rights and appeal to every one to appreciate every work our elderly done towards the development of the country.
The main objectives of this trust organisation is to prolong the lives of our elderly people by giving them good nutrition, health care, give training to those who are still able and make sure that we are there to share their emotional needs. We want SET to be an eye-opener not only to the people around our community but locally, regionally and internationally.
We are looking forward to get the support in the following areas,
- We are occupying two offices and we do not have basic office equipments particularly a set of computer to put our records.
- We have managed to identify seventy-eight (78) old people from two suburbs of our Chitungwiza community which has an estimated population of about four hundred thousand people. We are failing to meet their needs of proper food, medication, clothing, some are even failing to pay their monthly rentals of an average of $60 and are finding their water and electricity being cut off, school fees for their grandchildren is again another challenge among other problems.
These are the critical areas we are looking forward to get your support as we are just starting. We would love and appreciate your comments, advices, tips and support.
Thank you very much PulseWire community
