Offer: Grants available to investigative journalists [Uganda]

Investigative journalists from Uganda can apply for a reporting grant.

The grant fund, sponsored by the African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME), aims to ensure that high-quality investigative stories appear in Uganda media more regularly. Grants are given to individual journalists to pursue promising ideas and produce well-reported stories over a specified period of time.

If the journalist is employed, his or her media outlet is required to grant time off to pursue the investigative project. ACME will also provide pre-publication advising and mentoring. The grants range from US$500 to US$2,000.

Ugandan journalists, including those employed for media outlets and independent freelancers, are eligible to apply.
