The Coalition of African Lesbians invites all interested persons to submit their CVs and letters of motivation detailing why you are interested to consult with the Coalition.

CAL is a Pan African feminist alliance with 29 organisational members and agrowing number of individual members who self-identify as lesbian and bisexual women or as transdiverse people. We are individually and collectively passionate about and committed to defending and advancing justice for LBT people as part of a vibrant woman’s and feminist movement at a local, national, regional and international level.

We are looking for individuals with skills in the following specific areas:

1. Process facilitators
2. Human Resource policy and development
3. Media and communications
4. Governance

Interested Parties for the Consultancies Above are Requested To:

* Send a letter of motivation
* Submit an up to date CV
* Send names and working contact details of 3 references
* Indicate daily fees in relation to the consultancy

2. Special Consultancies:

2.1 Exhibition

The Coalition of African Lesbians will be hosting an exhibition to honor and recognise Human Rights Defenders in Africa.We therefore seek experts/artists with a strong track record to take on the curatorship and content/materials development for the exhibition.
Interested Persons or Organisations are Requested To:

* Send a 5 page concept note detailing their ideas on both the artistic and management aspects of the Exhibition;
* Send details of their involvement in similar projects and contactable references
* Send a CV and a letter of motivation regarding why they wish to take on this project

2.2 Evaluation of the Coalition

The Coalition will, later this year, conduct a process and outcome external evaluation. Consultants with a strong track record in monitoring and evaluation are invited to send their CVs, letters of motivation and an indication of their availability between August and October 2011.


The Coalition seeks some of the skills urgently and will be contacting and vetting applicants meeting the criteria, soon as the necessary documents are submitted. Lesbian, bisexual and transgender people are encouraged to apply.

We received a number of responses from South Africa on our last call for consultants. We therefore encourage individuals outside of South Africa to apply as well.
