Offer: Social Justice Summer Study Abroad Program in Israel-Palestine

The Center for Transformative Education, a new educational initiative that offers empowering educational programs to help transform societies into their potential, is seeking motivated student leaders for this one-of-a-kind summer program, Beyond Bridges: Israel-Palestine (BB:IP).

Beyond Bridges: Israel Palestine is a summer program that takes university students to the Middle East on a journey of comparative conflict analysis and conflict transformation. The program combines rigorous academics and practical hands-on training, allowing students to explore questions at the core of all conflicts. This program aims to create spaces for both personal and collective growth, helping students gain new understandings of the roles they play in international conflicts, and how this relates to their political identities. Moving beyond the stage of practical peace agreements, or “beyond bridges,” we challenge participants to look at long-term solutions to end inter-communal conflict, transforming societies into their true potential.

2011 BB:IP Program: June 12 - July 3 (program begins June 12 and ends July 3 in Jerusalem)

The BB:IP Program costs include courses, room and board, groups meals and per diem, and travel expenses (including your flight to/from Ben Gurion International Airport). This cost varies depending on whether you are taking the course for 2 credits/auditing (no credit), or for 4 credits. Precise details regarding program costs are forthcoming.

For those who cannot afford the entire cost of the program, a number of scholarship opportunities are available. Please refer to the following links to check-out ways in which you can have part of your program expenses covered:

Grants are also available to USF students through the Swig Program in Jewish Studies and Social Justice (JSSJ). Hi Thais,
I didn't see any restrictions regarding citizenship, I think you just have to be a university student. I don't know for sure, but here is a link to the organization's "Contact Us" page:
