TAMMACHAT Natural Textiles is a long-time supporter of Big Brother Mouse, a book publishing venture that makes literacy fun for children (and adults) in Laos. This is especially important for girls, as they are unable to attend monastery schools where young boys can be sent for an education outside the village. Village schools are open to all, but often lack teachers and many villages have no school building.
For each piece sold, TAMMACHAT donates a book to a child in Laos, in partnership with Big Brother Mouse. TAMMACHAT thanks its customers for their support over the last year as 1,200 children in Laos will receive their first book in the coming months.
