Offer: Call for applicants - Policy Advocates for Women's Issues in the Middle East/North Africa Region
Vital Voices is currently seeking applicants for a new program called “Policy Advocates for Women’s Issues in the MENA Region” to bring together public-private partnerships in 10 countries throughout the Middle East to advocate for change on women’s issues.
The Policy Advocates for Women’s Issues in the MENA Region program seeks to empower communities to influence decision makers and have a tangible effect on policy and legislation that each community believes is crucial in their own environment. The program will bring together teams of five people from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and Lebanon to advocate for women’s issues in their communities, including diverse members of the public and private sectors.
Each team will participate in two online webinars with Vital Voices Global Partnership in preparation for a workshop that will bring together the PPP teams from all ten countries planned for February 2011. This workshop will provide targeted training based on feedback gathered from participants and will empower the teams to create action plans for advocacy on women’s issues in their community, with the end goal of effecting policy or legislative decisions.
If you, or someone you know, is from Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, the UAE, or Yemen and is interested in participating, go to Policy Advocates for more information about the program and to download an application. The deadline is January 9, 2011.
