Need: HIV/Blind women seek support..

HIV/AIDS is one of the devastating pademic which does not pick whom to infect. At a school for the blind here, a group of women mobilized themselves after sharing a common issue which was affecting them. As they mingled they, discovered that most were HIV positive, and many of them are widows. They formed a group at the school, the group members faces alot of challeges such as been evited by their relatives from home,hunger, and taking care of their children. Most of these women became blind after starting the ARVs.....some have even stopped attending school due to transport as the school does not provide.

The group is not yet registered but works with the zambia disability organisation and meets regularly at school. This year they have been up and down looking for sponsorship and support but none has come to their aid. The group would like to start a business to sustain themselves and their children. They also plan to assist blind women in the streets by opening a center (home) for them..The group welcomes all form of support.
