Need: Books and pencils

Hey people, I am working on a project that will commence in January 10th 2011 at a childrens home in Kisumu, Kenya.
I will be staying in the home for a period of 11 weeks to look into their social development and personality. Most children in the homes in Kenya get basic needs but not Psychological needs. It is because of this that my stay in the home would require at least 100 exercise books and 100 pencils. These will be used to help hem deal with their traumatic experiences through keeping journals. I believe that writing or journaling in this case is one way of dealing with locked up emotions and asking questions about life in and out of the home. Currently children under the age of 15 in homes total 2.4million. With this project I do hope that we will indeed help them get back into the community better in terms of healthy personalities.
Any way to help would be much appreciated.
I am conducting this project all alone, with supervision from my school lecturer and a little help and loadsa moral support from my mom and sisters.

I understand the pressures the children go through, this is a good way of helping them out.
Thats a call someone needs to respond too, wish i could help,but iam also looking for almost the
same things for the children in Monze Zambia.

Hey thanks a lot. I am hoping that this would be of benefit to people here in Kenya. We need to take care of the children in these homes and ensure they have a higher chance of making it into the future as better leaders psychologically.
What are some of the things you have done in Zambia towards the same call?
