Need: Computers to help Afghan women access the Internet
Requested by women in the refugee camps, in 2002 the Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL) opened Women’s Learning Centers (WLCs) designed to meet the multiple needs of the Afghan women and children. In our WLCs, we train teachers, provide health education, and offer preschool through university classes. Through workshops, we also train women to become leaders and to advocate for their basic human rights.
AIL has recently upgraded select Women's Learning Centers with computers and satellite Internet access, and we can now offer computer training classes to teach women the basics of computer and Internet use, as well as the steps for successful online interaction.
Please help us place computers in ALL of our WLCs to enable the women to access information, post personal stories on PulseWire and participate in conversations with other people worldwide.
