Offer: Scholarships Available - Women and Power Conference: Our Time To Lead (September 24–26, 2010)
Scholarship Deadline - June 1, 2010
Omega's annual Women & Power conference is one of the most celebrated women's gatherings in the world, unique in its rich diversity of speakers, performers, and participants. The conference is dedicated to empowering women to bring hope, healing, and change into their own lives and to the world around them.
This year, the conference is a call-out to women of all ages and backgrounds to become the leaders we have been waiting for. Whether you are a professional, activist, volunteer, student, artist, mother, spiritual seeker, or social visionary, it is time for us to dig deep, retrieve our authentic voice and values, and lead with courage and heart—at home, work, and in the world.
This year we are joined by NYT Columnist - Gail Collins, Singer Songwriter - Ani DiFranco, Astronaut - Mae Jemison, cofounder and CEO of Women for Women International - Zainab Salbi, founder and chair of Women Without Borders and Sisters Against Violent Extremism (S.A.V.E.) - Edit Schlaffer, and many more groundbreaking women.
Join with hundreds of other women for a weekend of celebration and conversation guaranteed to wake up your inner leader and leave you with renewed purpose.
The Women's Institute at Omega is happy to announce that we will be awarding a number of scholarships to Women & Power. Every year, women from around the world gather for this conference eager to share experience, expertise, wisdom, and camaraderie, and to hear from some of today's finest women leaders.
A Women & Power scholarship covers the following:
* Full cost of the conference
* Omega's All-Inclusive Accommodations Package (accommodations will be shared or single, depending on availability; commuter scholarships are also available)
* All meals
* The Omega shuttle bus from New York City, if needed (Airfare and other travel expenses are not covered)
Eligibility:
Scholarships are offered primarily to women between the ages of 18 and 29. They will be awarded to women who will bring a diversity of color, nationality, and professional experience to the event; to women who want to share the experience at home in their workplace or community; to women who would not be able to afford to attend the event without the scholarship; and to women who can commit to attending the full event. International women are welcome to apply.
