Need: Support required for combating trafficking on Indian borders
Trafficking at Indian borders sticking to Nepal, Myanmar and Bangladesh is on rise now-a-days and has become a serious problem particularly for both India and Nepal. A big number of girls are trafficked from these countries to India every day from these countries under the garb of false marriages and/or employment and pushed in to flesh trade in the red light areas based in metro cities like Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi. Consequently they shortly become victim of HIV/AIDS and other kinds of STDs.
After having got experience of working on HIV/AIDS and combat trafficking in Katihar, Araria and Kishanganj districts of Bihar in India for past many years Welfare India strongly feel that vigilance cum counseling center is essentially required to be established here in order to check the inhuman trafficking of innocent poor women. Also rehabilitation activities are need to be started for those who are emancipated from the net of the traffickers and brought back to their home but not accepted by the parents or husbands’ family

Hi there! How have things
Hi there!
How have things been going with Welfare India since you last posted? I'd love to hear more about what your daily experiences fighting human trafficking--maybe you could make a post in your journal so that the entire Pulsewire community can learn about your activism.
I'm also wondering if you have any specific needs to help get your anti-trafficking work up and running? Perhaps if you try posting again to Resource Exchange you can find folks who want to collaborate!
Look forward to hearing more from you!

Hello!
I am graduating from college in May 2012 and am looking for ways to spend 2-3 months in India working on women's or youth empowerment. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and am interested in pursuing this passion. Is there any way I could help, or any contacts you would recommend to me?
