Free Geek

Hi there!

You might be able to get some suggestions by contacting a really awesome organization called Free Geek, which is a community computer recyling program. They have locations all over the US--I did a quick search, and it doesn't seem like there are any in the Bay Area (which it seems from your profile is where you're at), but they might be able to direct you to somewhere similar in your area. Basically, Free Geek trades volunteer work (through recycling and reassembling old/used computer parts) for a free computer.

You can learn more here: http://www.freegeek.org/
And contact the main location, which is in Portland, OR at this number:
Tel (503)232-9350

Good luck!
