It is with great pleasure that Risxcel UK Ltd, Northern School of Permaculture UK, Women Environment and Climate Action Network (WECAN) Initiative in collaboration with the Global Water Sustainability Forum (GWSF), hereby invites you to participate in the WECAN Public Forum 2015 to celebrate Wangari Maathai Day 2015, International Women’s Day/Week 2015, Commonwealth Day/Week 2015 and African Women’s Decade 2010 – 2020.

Theme: Commonwealth Women at the forefront of Sustainability: Water-Food-Energy Nexus
Date: Tuesday, 3rd March 2015
Time: 10.00 – 16.30

The objective of the forum is to introduce the concept of environmental entrepreneurship, touching issues of renewable energy, organic gardening, agribusiness, ecological building systems and climate friendly technologies to supports women’s sustainable development and active agents of change in building resilient communities and promoting the Economy for the Common Good. The question of how the holistic approach to environmental entrepreneurship can enrich agricultural production, sustainable community development and natural resource management would be addressed. The forum will present an analysis of data collected from projects across the Commonwealth, information that forms the basis for decision across the Commonwealth as regards to Women /Gender Concerns, Water, Food Energy Sector and as a prerequisite for sustainable livelihoods and development.
During the forum participants will evaluate the progress made and actions to be taken in relation to the promotion of environmental entrepreneurship across the Commonwealth and the role women and youths can play or can play.
The occasion would also mark the official launching of the Women Environment and Climate Action Network (WECAN) Enterprise as a Commonwealth Women’s Cooperative to promote sustainable livelihoods and development across the Commonwealth.
