Mobile communication networks are undergoing a rapid transformation in developing countries, where an estimated two-thirds of the world's population lives and works. At the same time, women's empowerment is vital for economic growth in developing countries. Qualcomm Wireless Reach (@Qualcomm_GA), Vital Wave (@Vital_Wave), and the GSMA mWomen Programme (@GSMAmWomen) recently produced a report that characterizes the potential of mobile broadband to advance women's livelihoods in the developing world. The report, Transforming Women's Livelihoods through Mobile Broadband, combines in-depth interviews, segmentation analysis, and case studies to establish the value that mobile broadband brings to working women in the developing world.

This webinar will convene representatives from Qualcomm, Vital Wave, and GSMA in an interactive panel discussion on the catalytic effect mobile broadband can have on women's lives in the developing countries. The session will cover key topics from the research, including:
 The global opportunity to expand the reach of mobile broadband among working women;
 How different segments of women view mobile broadband and the features and functionality they want most;
 How MNOs and equipment providers, governments, and NGOs can support growth within this segment.

After registering you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

GSMA mWomen

Great to read this post - even though am reading it late.
the GSMA mWomen were in our country, Papua New Guinea running seminars telling the sector representatives about the research and training that they were carrying out in the country as to showing women how to use features on their mobile phone - moreso textbased phones - such as saving contacts, using calendar, torch for some..
I didn't attend the seminar but one of the representatives had come to talk to us in another training program about the seminar.

Thanks for this post and opportunity.

-We all have a special purpose in life. It is up to us to pause for a while, identify it, grab on to it and follow through -
