Media Learning Seminar: Knight Foundation. Available online!
The seventh annual Media Learning Seminar gathers philanthropic and media leaders Feb. 16-18, 2014 to explore how to localize the latest trends in news and information. The event is specifically for community foundations, place-based foundations and media organizations looking to develop partners to bring information to their communities. Presenters at the top of their fields will help explore trends and challenges, what has worked as well as what hasn’t.
As traditional media has struggled, funders have increasingly realized how integral good information is to all their areas of interest, whether that’s education, housing or the arts. Knight is engaging the philanthropic field in this area because we truly believe that honest, reliable information is the lifeblood of our democracy. It’s as important to a community as good jobs, great schools and clean air. Community and place-based foundations are at the center of community leadership, and are uniquely positioned to play a leadership role on this issue.
