Asian American Women, Feminism, and the Arts brings together a range of feminists -- an author, a visual artist, and a performance artist -- in a panel discussion moderated by Minoo Moallem, focused on the dynamics of gender, race, and activism. How does one claim and exercise one’s power as a woman? How is that expressed in art? How does one adapt to, challenge, or find inspiration in the framework of a traditional society? Is feminism fundamentally incompatible with traditional Asian culture? What does post-feminism mean, especially in an Asian American context? How do gender and sexuality play a role in this definition?
