FREE! 19th Cascade Festival of African Films-- Women Filmmakers Week

Event Date:
March 5, 2009 (All day) - March 7, 2009 (All day)

As part of the Festival of African Films, here in Portland, OR, there will be three day series of films by women filmmakers. All the movies are free of charge! This is the longest running African film festival in the US! For a complete schedule and more information go here:

On Saturday March 7th, at 2 PM, the film "Iron Ladies of Liberia" will be shown. I had the chance to see this several months back, and loved it. It provides a very candid, insider's look into the transitional work played by Liberian president Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

So, get out there and see a free movie!
