For a life free from violence against women and girls.
Join Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID) on International Women’s Day and march for A Life Free of Violence Against Women and Girls!
The call for this march addresses the theme of the 57th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) taking place at the United Nations, in New York and calls on states to:
- take concrete steps to end impunity
- fund gender equality and human rights instead of militarism
- protect women human rights defenders
Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID) is calling on women’s organizations around the world to hold rallies, marches and vigils on International Women’s Day, Friday March 8, 2013, to advocate that States respond, protect, and prevent violence against women and girls in all their diversity!
For those in New York City for the CSW you are invited for a local march on March 8th, 2013 from 10:00am-12:00pm.
