Webinar: Flexing Facebook's Civic Muscles: Public Engagement in the Age of Social Media

Event Date:
December 13, 2011 - 18:00 - 19:00

Presented by, Susanna Haas Lyons

Flexing Facebook’s Civic Muscles is a presentation that looks at the use of social media for public engagement. Online public participation is a young field however, and little is known about the benefits or limitations of these approaches. This presentation will share methods and results of a recent project I ran in partnership with the City of Vancouver, Canada, to engage hundreds of residents and commuters in a July 2011 Facebook conversation about the City of Vancouver’s Transportation Plan.

Tuesday, December 13, 2011
6-7pm est (5-6pm cst., 3-4pm pst.)
