UN Women Virtual Dialogue Gender & Aid Effectiveness
The Virtual Dialogue No.2 on “Gender and Aid Effectiveness” will build on the issues discussed during the Virtual Dialogue No.1. A session will specifically discuss the anticipated outcome from the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness (HLF-4) and its implications for financing for gender equality positions.
For more information about UN Women’s work on the HLF-4, please visit UN Women’s webpage dedicated to the event
Particular emphasis will be given to the issue of gender training and capacity-building in the following areas: New Aid Modalities; Gender Responsive Budgeting; Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, Policy Dialogue and Accountability with a gender perspective. The Virtual Dialogue will also analyze to what extent new technologies may be instrumental in conveying gender capacity-building.
A discussion will be held on the progress of UN Women’s “Supporting the Monitoring of Aid Effectiveness from a Gender Perspective” Program. Within this program, research teams in six pilot countries (Cambodia, Guatemala, Morocco, Mozambique, Peru, and Vietnam) have conducted country-specific studies on the impact of aid and its evaluation from a gender perspective. The results of three out of these six countries will be shared during the VD No. 2 on “Gender and Aid Effectiveness”.
What are UN Women Virtual Dialogues (VDs)?
UN Women VDs are online discussions facilitated by UN Women in Santo Domingo to stimulate debate and exchange of information, ideas and good practices among various stakeholders on a number of gender-related development issues.
In addition to hosting stimulating debates, UN Women VDs will serve as a gender training and capacity-building interactive tool.
