'Improving the quality of education for Somali speaking children' international conference
I am currently in Hargeisa, Somaliland attending this conference.
A few months ago the Somali language was declared to be the 3rd most spoken language in East Africa and an independent commission called ACALAN announced earlier this year, that because of this fact the Somali language would be a medium of instruction in schools in East Africa.
The "Improving the quality of education for Somali speaking children" international conference aims at fostering partnerships among Somali education administrators from all over Somali-speaking regions such as Ogadenia, Djibouti, South-central Somalia, Puntland, Somaliland and North-eastern Kenya. The event is being held in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland.

Best wishes!
Here's wishing the conference success, and thanks for sharing the information. Here in India, the little news that we get about Somalia is all negative. So, independent sources are so crucial to increase my own knowledge. Happy to have met you
