ABOUT APNA GHAR (OUR HOME)

For over 20 years, Apna Ghar (Our Home) has been a safe haven for immigrant women in Chicago who face domestic violence, but don’t have the support networks or access to services needed to break free from violence. Our emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and other wraparound services empower women to not only achieve immediate safety and but to also build independent, secure lives for themselves and their children in the long-run. Our services are all provided within a culturally competent and multilingual framework, which addresses the needs of the diverse communities in Chicago.

Location:
Lincoln Park (Barry Avenue and Lake Shore Drive West)
