FREE IT Career Seminar in Lagos, Nigeria

Event Date:
July 16, 2011 (All day)

FREE IT Career Seminar on July 16th in Lagos, Nigeria

Interested in Information Technology? Do you have career questions? Tired of hoping for the best? Have no time for fault finding? Looking to use IT to fulfill your potentials? Or simply curious about the opportunities in Information Technology?
Developing our human resource is a major step towards driving national development and closing the digital divide. It is a step towards becoming an ICT contributor, producer or creator that addresses the needs of both local and global markets, rather than remaining at the consumer level.

Raising awareness enables more people to respond realistically and positively to the opportunities and challenges of the digital age. A larger number of people are able to participate and contribute meaningfully in ICT development. This can only boost productivity levels in the economy. New job and business opportunities create social and commercial benefits. For Jidaw, the seminar is about developing human resources to make ICT a force for progress and a sustainable future. Empowerment must be a priority.

To compete globally Nigeria needs bold entrepreneurs, brilliant new ideas, as well as the ability to tap into the potential of enthusiastic young people. The best economic policy is not one that decrees jobs into existence but one that encourages, supports and empowers entrepreneurs.

Furthermore, the seminar’s underlying theme is always the disrespect of status quo. What joy do we find in the status quo? What are we defending? The digital divide? We must quit playing defensive and go on the offensive. Knowledge is not for the sake of knowledge. According to Norman Cousins, "The main failure of Education is that it has not prepared people to comprehend matters concerning human destiny."

Jidaw holds the Free IT Career Empowerment seminar on July 16, 2011. The free career forum promotes career development, entrepreneurship and empowerment with ICTs. The seminar is open to all, there are no registration fees. The aim is to contribute towards overcoming the human capital digital divide. More details on:
