January 30, marks an important day in our history – the day Mahatma Gandhi was martyred. Children Centre at Nehru Memorial Museum and Library commemorates the occasion by observing the day as ‘Living Gandhi’. The day remembers Gandhiji and his values and ideals for peace, non violence, pluralism, equity, dignity of an individual, etc.
Nehru Learning Centre for Children and Youth (NLCCY) organises a special programme on the day with various activities designed especially for children and young people with Gandhian ideas and vision as an underlying theme. We invite you and would welcome your school/organization/institution to nominate students to present songs, bhajans, short recitations, connected with the day as part the welcome. Please do inform us in advance so that we can schedule the participants.
You can send up to 25-30 participants for the programme. The programme is scheduled from 9:30 am to 2 pm. The detailed schedule is attached herewith. It will be helpful if you give us a list of the participants to make it easy for us to issue certificates. Please confirm us the numbers in advance. NMML would provide lunch to registered participants.
The various activities planned for the day are as follows:
● Gandhi Bhajans, and others
● Museum Tours
