NAME THE FUND AND WIN
After two years of diligent research, we are very excited to announce that we will soon be launching a fund for young feminists! We know from experience that it can be especially difficult for young women to access global resources to support their activism. And yet, hundreds of creative young women’s groups have been leading some of the most groundbreaking and energetic feminist initiatives all over the world. From informal support groups in Africa to grassroots organizations in Latin America, online platforms in the Middle East and political gatherings in South Asia, young women’s work has always been crucial to building powerful social movements. And so we’re building a fund that reflects the feminist principles young women and trans people are using to organize: accountability, autonomy, collaboration, flexibility and on-going learning and critical reflection. The new project will provide direct funding and capacity-building, as well as work creatively on mobilizing resources for feminist initiatives led by women in their twenties.
Here’s where we need your help!
We want to find a cool name for that reflects the bold and creative vision of this new fund. So please send us your ideas! Guidelines:
Think “resource mobilization,” not just funding.
We’re looking for a name now, but if you’re someone who thinks graphically and are compelled to share an image or possible logo, go right ahead.
Suggestions are welcome in all languages – just make sure to let us know what the words mean in English.
Genius behind winning suggestion will receive bragging rights and our eternal gratitude. We’ll also mail you a pack of some pretty cool AWID publications and feminist resources.
Please send your ideas by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by February 1st.
This project is a joint initiative by AWID and the Central American Women’s Fund, with the support of a committee of young women activists from around the world
