Regional Course on Gender and Rights in Reproductive Health: Transforming Health Systems in Sudan

Since 1996, the World Health Organization has been involved with developing the training curriculum Transforming health systems: gender and rights in reproductive health. The training manual has generated interest in implementing this course among many institutions in different parts of the world. Ahfad University for Women has been working for more than 35 years towards the advancement of Sudanese women. The University is conducting a training course on Gender & Rights in Reproductive Health for mid-top level professionals for East Mediterranean and North African Region (EMR), which is the only course of its kind to be run in Sudan. The course is part of a global initiative aiming at increasing the number of program managers, planners, policy-makers and trainers with both a gender and a rights perspective in reproductive health. Applications are due mid-October, 2010.
