Last year 173 045 325 million people stood up in this global call to action to end hunger and poverty This is the largest human mobilization movement for a single cause in the history of the world. We can make it ever bigger this year!!!

Let our voices be heard. On the 17th, 18th or 19th, wherever you are, Stand UP and take a pledge, count how many people that are participating whatever the size may be and register the number on the website. Its easy, simple and effective.

The feeling of being part of this mass movement of people rallying for the same cause whether it be farmers, mothers, workers, students, businesses, NGO's - is beyond words. We are uniting in proclamation that we want to see change and that we will not be silenced. Our voices will shape the future and our actions will change the world :)

action to end poveryt and hunger

My name is Helen and I am a student from portland State University. Your topic about standing up and take action to end poverty took my attention because this is my real passion as human being and as an activist. I am really glad that there are events that people can participate in order to take action for this cause. I live in the United States therefore I am privileged to have basic needs and more and seeing hungry children and people who live in poverty are something that many in the U.S can not even imagine. I would like to join you and share comments and information with you. Thank you
